The Dark Lady, Main Page

Offensiveness: Relative scale: 6/10, intense in places. (Based on my writing. 1 is a a daily blog, 10 is slasher porn.)
Offensive Details: Highlight (click and drag) over the following empty space to read specific content ratings for this story.

Skip the warnings if don't want any spoilers.

Graphic battle violence, mildly-explicit sex/nudity, descriptions of torture.  Horror elements.

The Dark Lady, Discussion. Spoilers!

The Dark Lady was originally posted Halloween 2001, on Diabloii.net. The Dark Lady stars the same family of characters that were introduced in Haunted Castles Beat Treats, but picks up their tale two years later, as they travel to visit their oldest son, who has been in Paladin training at an academy some distance from their home for several years.  It's recommended you read the first story before this one.

Here's a quick run down of the returning characters, which will help you keep them straight, especially if you've not read Haunted Castles recently.

Tugg - Barbarian, father, strong, not speak so good, but caring and protective of his family.
Saraha - Amazon, mother, wise, warrior, intelligent, dislikes sorcery and Sorceresses, but supports her daughter anyway.
Tambor - Young son, now age 8, Barbarian, super strong for his age, bit smarter than his father, playful and exuberant.
Semla - Daughter, now age 14, Amazon/warrior training, but inherent proclivity for magecraft, which first broke to the surface during the Hallow's Eve adventures two years ago (as related in HCBT).
Torok - Teen aged son, in training to become a Paladin.

This isn't exactly a sequel to Haunted Castles, and the tone of the tale is less light-hearted.  You don't need to read the first story first, but it wouldn't hurt.

See the discussion page after you read the story, for notes on the story, ideas for it that didn't make it into print, reader feedback, and more.  Don't see it before you read, since there are spoilers galore.
