Best Pirates of the
Caribbean 2 Joke Ever.
Okay, there's not a
real long list of challengers for that title, but still, this one made
me laugh and laugh. It came in a
comments thread on the increasingly-irrelevant Ain't it Cool News
site, a comments thread about a news item featuring pictures of two dolls
action figures from the upcoming PotC sequel. One is a
hammer-headed shark pirate type guy, and the other is the main bad guy
of the second film, Davey Jones. As you'll know if you've seen the
trailer, or the action figure, Davey is strangely mutated and looks
rather um... crustaceon-esque.
Thus prompting the comment of the year, by Peven.
"So, Jack
Sparrow defeats Davey Jones with bowl of melted butter?"
Yes, yes he does. At a
Red Lobster all-you-can-eat feast. And with one of those little barbed
plastic forks. Etc.
Though I've already crowned the winner, other finalists include jokes
about Long John Silver battering and deep frying them all, the voyage to
find and retrieve Keira's
sunken chest, and "Arrgg Billy, this ain't a fish stick and
that ain't tar-tar sauce." If only the film is half as funny as the
jokes about it...
